Carhartt Workshop, Detroit

The Carhartt Workshop is a community-focused free tool library located on the 2nd floor of their flagship store in Detroit.
A first-of-its-kind resource built for the hardworking people of Detroit and surrounding areas, Carhartt opened the workshop in 2020 to provide access to all the tools and equipment needed to kickstart your next DIY project. The space also can be rented at no charge to host meetings, hold training sessions, and teach workshops.
Woodward Throwbacks Projects
It's no secret we are HUGE Carhartt fans and are also part of their brand ambassador program, so we were very excited to play a small role in bringing this special space to life! Using reclaimed wood, we built the large butcher block workstation in the main tool storage space in addition to the community tables shown below. We also provided the wood used for the workbench tops.

Visiting the Carhartt Workshop
If you're working on a project but not exactly sure which tool you need or are not ready to invest in specific tools for your own collection, we highly suggest checking them out. Bo and Kyle had a chance to give the free tool rental program a try while working on reinstalling salvaged gym flooring at the #WTPhillyHouse, and it went flawlessly! We'll definitely be back!
